What is TKP?

The Traceable Knowledge Platform (TKP) makes documents and media searchable. For example, you can upload a report, find passages about a topic, and open the relevant page to check what the report actually says. Audio and video sources can have references to a particular time instead of a page.

You manage content in the admin panel, TKP's web interface. Despite its name, it is also used by ordinary members; the actions available to you depend on your permissions. Other applications can search and read the same content through TKP's REST and MCP interfaces.

How your content is organized

A tenant is a workspace for a project, team or organization. Inside it, you create libraries to group related files. Each uploaded file becomes a resource. These names appear in the panel and in the API.

After upload, TKP processes the file in the background. This processing is called ingestion: TKP extracts the content and prepares it for search. A successful upload therefore does not mean the file is ready to search yet.

Get started

  1. Create an account, or accept an invitation if someone has invited you to their workspace.
  2. Select your workspace in the panel. Membership of a workspace and access to its libraries are separate; permissions explain what to do if you cannot see a library.
  3. Follow the admin panel guide to create a library, upload a file and inspect the result.

The core concepts page explains the remaining content types as you encounter them.
