Create an account
You need the address of a running TKP installation. Ask the person who operates it if you only have this documentation site's address: the application and the docs can use different domains.
Open the application's /app page, for example https://your-tkp-instance.example/app, and follow Register from the login page. If you were invited to a workspace, open the invitation link instead and follow Accept an invitation.
If registration is restricted
The operator decides who may register. The registration form explains whether registration is open or invitation-only:
- Open registration normally lets you create an account directly. The operator can still block particular addresses or domains.
- Invitation only requires a system invitation from an instance administrator, or an email address permitted by the operator's allowlist. An allowlist can name individual addresses or whole domains, such as your university's domain.
A system invitation allows account creation on the installation. A tenant invitation only grants membership of a workspace; it does not override these registration rules. Ask the operator for a system invitation if you cannot register with your workspace invitation.
Verify your email address
If TKP asks you to verify your email, open the verification message and follow its link before continuing. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder and ask the operator to check email delivery. Some invitation flows already verify the invited address, so this step may be skipped.
Create your workspace
If your account has not joined a workspace, TKP takes you to Create tenant. A tenant is a workspace containing your libraries and team memberships. Enter a name for your project or organization, or leave the name empty to create a personal workspace.
You become the workspace's Owner, which lets you manage its settings and members. TKP then opens its dashboard. Continue with the admin panel guide to create your first library.
