Accept an invitation
An invitation lets you join a TKP installation or one of its workspaces. TKP calls a workspace a tenant. There are two kinds of invitation:
- A system invitation from an instance administrator allows you to create an account. It can also assign you to workspaces named in the invitation.
- A tenant invitation adds you to one workspace with the role selected by its Owner or Admin. You still need an account on that installation.
A tenant invitation does not override the installation's registration rules. If you do not have an account and cannot register, ask the operator for a system invitation. Account registration explains when one is needed.
Open the invitation link
Open the link in the invitation email. What happens next depends on your account:
- If you do not have an account, TKP opens registration with the invited email address already filled in. Set a password and submit the form. If you need a system invitation, register through its link first, then return to any separate tenant invitation.
- If you already have an account with that email address, sign in when asked.
- If you are signed in with another account, sign out and use the account matching the invitation's email address.
If TKP asks you to verify your email address, follow the link in its verification message before continuing. Open the original invitation again if it has not yet been accepted.
After a tenant invitation is accepted, TKP opens that workspace's dashboard. A system invitation adds any assigned workspaces to your account. You can select them from the workspace menu. If it assigns no workspace and you intend to manage your own content, follow Create your workspace.
Invitation links stop working after use or expiry. Ask the inviter for a new link if yours is no longer valid.
Check library access
Joining a workspace does not automatically give you access to its files. A library groups related documents and has its own memberships. If you cannot see the library you need, ask its administrator to add you. See permissions for the distinction between workspace roles and library access.
